Role Overview
As Package Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of a unique equipment package: the design, build, and delivery of shallow water cable lay barges, including the integration of carousels, tensioners, as well as ensuring the cable lay scope delivery.
You will manage this scope through all phases: engineering, procurement, fabrication, integration, testing, and delivery of the installation scope. A strong focus on contract setting up & execution, cost control, planning, and interface management is essential. The role requires close coordination with internal teams (Engineering, SCM, HSEQ, Operations) and external stakeholders (Client, vendors, yards, certification bodies). Key Responsibilities

Package Management
- Full accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and HSE performance of the package.
- Manage the complete lifecycle of the package from contract award through to delivery and handover.
- Develop and maintain the Package Execution Plan, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives.
- Lead the administration of supplier and subcontractor contracts within the package.
- Ensure set up of adequate protection as well as flow downs from the client contract
- Ensure compliance with Client contractual obligations, including deliverables, milestones, variations, and claims.
- Support technical and commercial negotiations, change order evaluations, and supplier progress reviews.
- In coordination with the construction supervisor, ensure the technical specifications are adequate to the project requirements.
- Ensure the package is delivered in line with technical specifications, project requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate design reviews and interface management between the barge hull, cable lay equipment, and control systems.
- Ensure the integration of mission-critical equipment (e.g., 3 carousels, tensioners, LCEs) is executed effectively.
- Develop and monitor detailed schedules, procurement plans, and fabrication milestones.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain delivery targets.
- Ensure robust progress reporting and forecasting at package level.
- Serve as the single point of contact for the package within the project team.
- Interface with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, HSEQ, Operations, and Commissioning teams.
- Manage relationships with yards, OEMs, subcontractors, and certification/classification bodies.
- Ensure strict adherence to project and corporate HSE policies.
- Proactively manage quality assurance and control throughout the package execution.
Education & Experience
- Degree qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture, or similar).
- Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in offshore construction projects, ideally within EPCI environments.
- Demonstrable experience delivering equipment or vessel packages, particularly with cable lay systems or other subsea mission equipment.
- Strong knowledge of contract and supplier management, including EPC or equipment supply contracts.
- Experience working with fabrication yards, equipment vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Solid understanding of project management principles (cost, schedule, risk, quality).
- Contractually literate with strong negotiation and claim management skills.
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple interfaces and deliver under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Team player with leadership capabilities and a proactive, hands-on mindset.
