This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Analyze transient characteristics of engines, including running cycle models
- Conduct testing in rigs, ground tests and flight engines
- Match transient engine cycle model performance to test data
- Lead transient validation design reviews
- Execute with limited guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
- Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements
- Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams; mentor others in the organization
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in systems engineering
- Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Desired Characteristics
- Current secret clearance desired.
- 2+ years of experience in one of Systems, Performance, Operability, or Transient disciplines
- MS in Engineering or Minimum of 2 years in gas turbine engineering position
- Skilled in aircraft engine system design and integration
- Experience with aerodynamic compression components (Fan, Booster, Compressor)
- Experience with gas turbine engine performance cycle design and analysis
- Experience with NPSS, Python or similar programming languages
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated cross functional team experience
- Ability to influence others
- Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work
