The Mechanical Engineer Technician will support the Research and Development and New Product Development Engineering teams in the drive for continued product development and innovation efforts and it relates to Solids Control and Waste Management equipment. Provides technical and hands on support to Sr. Engineers in the design, building and troubleshooting related to development projects in controlled testing environment and field trials. The role will also be contributing to the creation of test plans, provide data analysis and reporting back to the development teams during the development process.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply Engineering Knowledge & General Engineering Principles in support of the development and improvements of Solids Control Equipment.
- Provide Engineering support in the evaluation, testing and operation of product development and improvement projects, in both the Engineering Test Facility Environment and in the field.
- Create or assists Project Engineers in the development of nonstandard test procedures/plans for new development and existing products.
- Coordinate with service groups and conduct field testing in accordance with test procedures/plans in support of Product Development Engineering Projects.
- Provide and assist in training and knowledge of equipment, operation and best practice related to Brandt Products & Services to both internal and external customers.
- Produce, check, and approve engineering related documentation and drawings for both internal and external requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures. Encourage and recognize safe work practices. Report all accidents, incidents & near misses.
- Ensure that the company's quality system and procedures are adhered to.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

- Responsible for self-workload to plan and schedule ensuring all deadlines are achieved
- Domestic and International Travel as and when required - expected travel - 25%
- Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
- Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and department/area work instructions.
- Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.
- Participate in training where required.
- Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training and instruction.
- To be safety conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.
- Ensure all accidents and/or incidents are reported in a timely manner (within 12 hours) to the Safety Department and Line Management.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, and/or 2-year technical degree, equivalent experience in the related field preferred.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field is desirable.
- Minimal 3 years' experience in mechanical role supporting equipment operations, maintenance and repair required.
- Minimal 2 years' experience with operating Solids Control equipment or related oilfield operations required.
- Possess the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, pneumatics tools, shop equipment in the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Posses the knowledge of machinal systems, to include pneumatic, hydraulic, fluid transfer/pumps, heat exchangers and general mechanical aptitude.
- Basic understanding of electrical components, wiring schematics and the use of electrical tools to assist in the building, operation and troubleshooting for electrical systems desirable.
- Computer literacy (MS Office Suite, Outlook).
- Knowledge of CAD/3D modelling software desirable, or the willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of industry standards related to the oilfield and drilling operations.
