Lead Drilling C&P Engineer
Location: Pau - France
Contract Type: Long-term assignment

We are seeking an experienced C&P Drilling Lead to oversee Contracts & Procurement (C&P) activities for Drilling, Wells, and Logistics operations. This is a strategic leadership position responsible for driving procurement excellence, ensuring operational efficiency, and delivering cost optimisation across complex technical environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage Drilling, Wells & Logistics C&P activities, ensuring compliance with corporate procedures and local requirements.
  • Drive cost optimisation initiatives using market intelligence, cost models, supplier qualification and evaluation.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of C&P professionals, ensuring workload balance and competency development.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with technical teams and partner entities through Duet/Triplet meetings to anticipate needs and plan procurement activities.
  • Oversee complex contract drafting, negotiations, and purchase order management.
  • Ensure effective use of tools and systems, maintain supplier databases, and monitor KPIs for efficiency improvements.
  • Conduct contractual audits, manage disputes in collaboration with Legal, Finance, and Insurance, and lead negotiations when required.
  • Promote lessons learned, best practices, and global reporting within the organisation.
Profile & Qualifications
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • 10–15 years of professional experience in Supply Chain or Contracts & Procurement roles, ideally within the Oil & Gas or Energy sectors.
  • Advanced C&P technical competencies and certifications.
  • Solid understanding of core operational activities such as Project Management, Drilling, Engineering, and Field Operations.
  • Excellent negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Previous international experience is highly desirable.
