The Opportunity:

As an Offshore Project Engineer on board our rock installation vessel Acadia you will be assisting the Offshore Construction Manager (OCM) with leading the installation team on the bridge during the day or night shift, and you will report to the OCM when assigned onboard the vessel. Your primary goal is to ensure the team performs the installation of rock accurately according to the design, and efficiently according to the schedule. You will implement approved procedures to ensure safe execution of the work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for preparing the vessel mobilization procedure and work methods
  • Prepare the rock installation construction data sheet
  • Support the Offshore Energy Engineering Manager for developing rock installation procedures
  • Support the Offshore Energy Engineering Manager in defining engineering scope and deliverables
  • Support the Offshore Energy Projects Director with staffing, planning and budgeting per contract requirements
  • The Project Engineer will receive and verify data from client and other contractors
  • Understand and monitor all interfaces with marine warranty surveyors and regulatory bodies/authorities to ensure requirements are properly addressed and relevant documents are reviewed in time
  • Responsible for the timely issuance of all project documents including the operation report after project completion
  • Participate in and prove input to the project close out and lessons learned processes
  • The Project Engineer will be required to spend time offshore during the rock installation and responsible for daily progress reports including quality control, interface with marine warranty surveyors, and the rock installation pattern updates per the engineering and operational standards
  • Effectively address vessel operation and management issues
  • Keep the team working and living together in harmony
  • Implement and develop company emergency procedures
  • Implement hazard identification and risk control measures

Requirements:
  • A B.S. or M.S. in Ocean/Offshore, Naval Architecture, Marine Transportation, Coastal Engineering, Civil Engineering or a similar major
  • 2 to 5 years of prior experience in subsea installation is preferred
  • Must have or be able to obtain all industry required certificates to work offshore
  • Must be able to obtain a valid passport and / or visas to travel internationally in countries the company operates in
  • Excellent communications skills for interfacing office and marine personnel
  • Understanding of basic project management processes including planning and project control is a plus
  • Knowledge of Subsea Rock Installation operation and survey is a plus
  • Must be very familiar with standard Microsoft Office Suite Software such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC, passport, working visa(s) and medical certs such as BPSIET and OGUK prior to going offshore
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail and high level of precision
