Job Description Summary

The NPI Engineer has the ownership of Repair industrialization in their shop prioritized by SQDC. The candidate will work with key stakeholders that are both on-site and remote to deliver on the repair industrialization plan. The NPI Engineer will be responsible for technical project planning and execution that results in growth of the site's repair capability portfolio.

GE Aerospace Engine Services Malaysia (GEESM) in Subang plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and performance of aviation fleets every day. Role Overview:
  • Subject Matter Expert : Provides business case input to engineering/cost leaders, evaluate need for P&E, cost for special tooling, productivity estimates for the shop to improve productivity . Assess shop capacity/capability to perform the NPI. Project manages through an action plan with deliverables and commit date identified.
  • Compliance: Review repair draft, manage, facilitates and coordinates shop trials with technical guidance from SPO's, procure scraps parts. Collaborates and co-ordinates closely with SPOs, Operations, Quality and Repair Engineering to facilitate approval of repair documents in the Repair Builder.
  • Documentation: Enable all internal quality approvals such as routers and data sheet generation with characteristic accountability. Submit the Repair Source Substantiation to Repair Engineering. Submit cost information to Marketing/Finance and add hours to per piece to capacity model, and New Repairs to capability list. Supports the perfection review and hands off to production.
  • FLIGHT DECK: Support SQDC daily management utilizing the lean fundamentals to facilitate technical problem solving and a continuous improvement culture. Supports YOY site productivity targets
  • Consultation: Establishing best practice in router creation and sharing best practices in dual sources.


Ideal Candidate:
  • Candidate will have strong Project Management background, understanding the business's needs and keystakeholders' responsibilities in order to execute NPI projects. For this to be successful, candidate should also have a good background in shift operations and process engineering in order to create a production line that can be safe for the technicians, provide good yield (Quality) with good Turn Around Time, post NPI. Ideal candidate should have technical degree with at least 5 years experience and demonstrated background in working with multiple stakeholders.


Required Qualifications:
  • This role requires advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Project Management. Candidate to have minimum 3 to 7 years of experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Engineer, Project Management, or other similar roles will be preferred.
  • Candidate with good and deep understanding of aviation MRO operations cross functionally will be preferred.
  • Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in any related technical, engineering, or science degree program.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Thinks out of the box for solution and seeks help and necessary assistance.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • Resourceful in ensuring proper utilization of resources of key stake holders.
  • Clear thinking, understands and know how to utilize key stake holders roles and responsibilities to keep the project moving.
