Overview
We are looking to recruit a Head of Renewable Energy for our growing team here at Gallagher.
We are seeking a client-centric, sales-driven leader to spearhead the success and growth of our newly formed national specialism, Retail Renewable Energy. Gallagher recognises the significant growth opportunities within the renewable energy sector and is looking for a visionary leader to capitalise on the investments made in building this specialism to date.
The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit to drive the specialism forward, leading thought leadership marketing campaigns, fostering engagement with partnerships and membership bodies, and driving growth. They will be tasked with building a market-leading specialism that is widely recognised within the renewable energy industry.
This is a high-profile, high-impact strategic role that blends entrepreneurial leadership with people development and growth. The focus will be on elevating our client proposition and expertise across a diverse portfolio, including corporate, mid-market, and scheme business.
This role requires a sales-driven individual with a proven track record of strong client retention, growing existing accounts, and onboarding new business. A client-centric approach is essential, preferably with experience in renewable energy and construction.
The candidate must be people-focused, with the ability to develop and attract talent, grow the existing team, and foster a strong team culture across multiple locations and hybrid working environments. Leadership experience is critical, as the role involves leading and developing people to fulfil their potential.
We will consider experienced Sales and Account Executives looking for their next step, as well as Account Executive Leaders or leaders of other specialisms/niches with experience in managing a specialism. The successful candidate will also serve as a P&L owner and a member of the Midlands Executive team.

How you'll make an impact
- Build the Specialism - Build a market leading specialism recognised by the Renewable Energy industry, deepening our presence in the sector and capitalising on partnership and membership body opportunities.
- Lead with Vision - Build and lead the specialism with full P&L responsibility, setting and delivering on growth objectives aligned with the national strategy.
- Champion client success, driving growth and sales - Strengthen existing client relationships and win new business by championing Gallagher's consultative, solutions-led approach.
- Empower and grow the team - Develop and empower a talented, collaborative team - supporting their development, building succession, and celebrating success. Attract and develop talent.
- Drive Excellence - Ensure operational discipline and uphold best-in-class standards across compliance, client service, and placement strategy.

About You
- Proven Sales and growth - A proven track record of growth through existing clients and new business sales.
- Leadership - Ideally experience of leading people, attracting and growing talent.
- Expertise - Ideally renewable energy and construction experience. Strong understanding of cross-class commercial and corporate risks, with the ability to lead across multiple product lines. We will consider candidates with other niche/specialism backgrounds, Sales/Account Executive leaders looking for the next step into P&L ownership.
- Inspire Trust - Confidence and credibility with clients, colleagues, and partners - you inspire trust and deliver value.

- Qualifications - ACII/FCII qualification (or working towards it) is desirable but not essential.
