Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Business in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Establish, implement, and continuously enhance the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management system in accordance with international standards such as ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety), and ISO 50001 (Energy management) as well as applicable Mexican regulations. Ensure the system is robust, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive HSE policies, procedures, and work instructions. Clearly define roles, responsibilities, and accountability across all levels of the organization.
  Design and deliver targeted HSE training programs for employees at all organizational levels. Promote awareness, competency, and engagement in health, safety, and environmental practices. Evaluate training effectiveness and update content as needed.
• Plan and execute internal audits of the HSE management system to assess compliance, identify improvement areas, and ensure alignment with ISO standards. Document findings and follow up on corrective actions.
• Engage internal and external stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, regulators, and community partners, to promote sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in similar positions.
• Knowledge and experience in ISO 14001 and 45001 management systems.
• Experience in health, safety, and the environment.
• Experience hosting and participating in external audits (dealing with the auditing firm, planning, audit plan, and reporting findings), as well as experience as an internal auditor and/or lead auditor.
• Knowledge and experience in ISO 50001 is a plus.
• Experience working with and collaborating with management teams.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office.
• Advanced English proficiency.
