Commissioning Engineer
London
We have an exciting opportunity for a Commissioning Engineer to join our Thames team, within the Galliford Try group. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering commissioning activities across assigned projects, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes.
What you will be doing:
- Leading the commissioning delivery for your assigned project, ensuring all activities align with project scope, requirements, and industry standards.
- Developing and maintaining the Project Commissioning Plan, Commissioning Strategy, and all associated documentation, ensuring these are delivered on time and clearly define interfaces, responsibilities, and constraints.
- Creating outline commissioning strategies during early design stages and evolving these into detailed plans through to project award and delivery.
- Monitoring commissioning documentation progress to ensure alignment with project timelines and reporting requirements.
- Working closely with the client's Asset Operations Team to ensure successful integration with existing assets.
- Ensuring all MEICA installation and commissioning work meets technical requirements, client specifications, Asset Standards, and where appropriate, WIMES.
- Adhering to Galliford Try MEICA and commissioning processes and procedures.
- Planning, organising, and supervising testing and commissioning activities.
- Collaborating with specialist support teams including DSEAR, Technical Authors, and Document Controllers to ensure early engagement and clear understanding of project expectations and timeframes.
- Coordinating and supporting delivery of training plans, including supplier and subcontractor-led training where required.
- Engaging with the client's Asset Integrator to agree project takeover deliverables, supporting MEICA and commissioning requirements for smooth completion and participation in review meetings where needed.
- Coordinating MEICA and commissioning activities with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure project milestones and programme requirements are achieved.
About You:
You will bring experience, collaboration, and a solutions-focused approach to the role. We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Strong experience within the water industry.
- Proven ability to manage and deliver MEICA and commissioning activities on site, including regular client engagement and effective resolution of issues affecting progress.
- A track record of successful MEICA and commissioning delivery through to project takeover.
- The ability to deliver work efficiently to meet project timelines and handover requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for creating, analysing, and presenting reports.
- A solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental best practices.
- Knowledge of water industry processes and the mechanical and electrical equipment used within the sector.
Qualifications & Certifications
- CSCS or ECS card in a relevant discipline
- EUSR National Water Hygiene Card
- BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations - 18th Edition
- SMSTS (preferred) or SSSTS (minimum)
- First Aid at Work (preferred)
