Dafür suchen wir ab sofort einen Mechanical Engineer (w/m/d) mit Schwerpunkt Kryogenik und Vakuum.

Deine Aufgaben:

Als Mechanical Engineer - Cryogenics & Vacuum (f/m/d) wirst Du Teil eines Teams sein, das die Aufgabe hat, unsere Quantencomputer mit gefangenen Ionen und die entsprechenden Testgeräte zu entwickeln, aufzubauen und zu betreiben. Du wirst eng mit unserem internationalen Team von Physikern und Ingenieuren aus verschiedenen Disziplinen zusammenarbeiten. Je nach deinem Erfahrungsstand wirst du an einer oder mehreren der folgenden Aufgaben arbeiten:

• Umsetzung der Entwicklung und des Designs hochinnovativer mechanischer Bauteile und deren Integration in das Gesamtsystem des Quantencomputers in Zusammenarbeit mit Systemexperten
• Verantwortung für den detaillierten Entwurf von thermischen Pfaden und Schnittstellen sowie die Verfolgung von Wärmebudgets für Quantencomputer
• Erstellung von 3D-CAD-Modellen und -Zeichnungen für die Fertigung, Entwicklung der mechanischen Produktdesignstruktur und Verwaltung von CAD-Daten, Ersatzteillisten und Stücklisten (BOMs)
• Definition von Herstellungsvorschriften, Unterstützung des Einkaufs bei der Lieferantenauswahl und kollaborative Zusammenarbeit mit Lieferanten zur Methoden-, und Materialienauswahl sowie weiterer Anforderungen
• Assistenz bei der Erstellung von Wirksamkeitsnachweisen und Diskussionsrunden zur Umsetzbarkeit
• Testung mechanischer Prototypen und Überprüfung anhand der Vorgaben
• Ein proaktiver Kommunikationsstil zur engen Abstimmung mit Kunden, Lieferanten und dem Einkauf zeichnen dich aus
• Kontinuierliche Optimierung der Prozesse

Required skills:

• BSc. or MSc degree in mechanical engineering or comparable.
• 3+ years of experience in an engineering or R&D environment.
• Experience in design and development of bespoke machinery or systems
• Experience with cryogenics and pumped vacuum applications
• Experience in manufacturing processes and treatments of broad range of materials beside steel and aluminum
• Knowledge of setting up product structure in PDM, PLM and ERP System
• Experience with systematic product development processes
• Well organized and structured way of working
• Being adaptable while practicing critical thinking
• Business fluent in English, knowledge of German is a plus

• Experience in FEM simulations and calculations
