Job Description

The Slough Gas Seal Engineering Team is excited to welcome a passionate, expert-level Mechanical Engineer ready to take on unique and rewarding technical challenges. In this role, you'll be at the heart of innovation - collaborating with customers, tackling complex engineering problems, and helping shape the design and development of advanced dry gas seals. This role is based from our Slough site working Monday to Friday normal office hours.

Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to)
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external clients to understand and translate application engineering requirements into innovative, practical solutions.
  • Lead the investigation and analysis of complex engineering challenges, developing effective, high-quality solutions that align with company strategy and customer needs.
  • Take full ownership of projects-managing timelines, budgets, and quality standards to ensure successful, on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Work autonomously to plan, prioritize, and execute engineering tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong self-management and accountability.
  • Drive design excellence by developing solutions that prioritize functionality, reliability, standardization, and cost efficiency, leveraging tools such as 2D/3D CAD, proprietary in-house software, and ANSYS.
  • Champion OEM standardization initiatives, promoting consistency, continuous improvement, and engineering best practices across multiple projects.
  • Foster collaboration and influence across cross-functional teams, effectively communicating with engineers, project stakeholders, and partners to guide project direction and achieve shared objectives.

Qualifications
  • Hold a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Extent experience within a related industry / company, preferably rotating equipment and/or oil and gas
  • Broad knowledge of engineering sciences, materials, and modern manufacturing processes
  • Ability to review 2D & 3D CAD drawings
  • Advanced use of CFD/FEA packages and FEA (ANSYS) evaluation of stress and deformation, thermodynamic and fluid dynamics
  • Project management skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
