This Position reports to:
Senior Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.

This role is contributing to the EL Smart Power in Xiamen China.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Independently complete the design of low-voltage switchgear for simple and moderately complex projects, such as engineering drawings, BOMs, and other project documents. Guide and review the design of low-voltage switchgear for simple projects by other engineers, including engineering drawings, BOMs, and other project documents. Provide necessary technical support for quotations, inspections, and services.
• Understand the actual needs of customers, prepare project proposal documents, and provide support in the early stage of the project.
• List the project deviations and customer change requests, provide reasonable solutions to meet the new customer demands, and communicate them.
• Arrange and adjust your design and proofreading time according to the project plan and cost, ensure timely and high-quality project delivery, and assist the team in achieving the team's design targets.
• Identify and assess risks existing in project design, and provide reasonable suggestions to eliminate them; actively explore potential opportunities of the project, analyze cost-effectiveness and project impact, and be able to propose measures to improve design efficiency and project profits.
• Assist customers in resolving technical issues of the project; participate in the project technical meetings of customers, introduce products and clarify project designs.
• Work with the supply chain management department to assess whether the technical parameters of the products meet the project's technical requirements. If necessary, assist in preparing the technical requirements for the products, such as channel steel, bus ducts, etc.
• Build and maintain relationships with colleagues, proactively select, collect, learn, share and summarize project design experiences to enhance the efficiency and quality of your own project design outputs.
• Use standard processes and tools for project design. Ensure that your project design complies with all safety regulations and technical standards. Be able to identify inefficient processes and tools and propose changes.
• Set reasonable plans for assistant engineers and guide them to completion.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's degree, majoring in mechanical engineering or related fields, with 3 to 8 years of working experience.
• Good team cooperation ability
• Stress resistance, capable of handling pressure from different functions and projects.
• Good problem analysis and decision-making ability
• Possess strong communication skills and an open and inclusive attitude.
• Good command of English
