About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Offshore Shutdown Production Operations Focal Point to provide dedicated operational leadership throughout shutdown preparation and execution. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of all shutdown-related operational activities, working closely with multidisciplinary teams onshore and offshore.
Reporting to the Shutdown Manager, you will act as the key operational interface, ensuring shutdown strategies, plans, isolations, reinstatements, and handovers are fully aligned with operational standards and delivered to the highest safety and performance expectations.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Offshore Shutdown Production Operations Focal Point to provide dedicated operational leadership throughout shutdown preparation and execution. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of all shutdown-related operational activities, working closely with multidisciplinary teams onshore and offshore.
Reporting to the Shutdown Manager, you will act as the key operational interface, ensuring shutdown strategies, plans, isolations, reinstatements, and handovers are fully aligned with operational standards and delivered to the highest safety and performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development of drain, flush, purge and leak-testing strategies, including contingency planning.
- Manage boundary isolation philosophy and coordinate isolations and de-isolations across all shutdown scopes.
- Oversee decommissioning and recommissioning NROs, and coordinate NRO HAZOPs.
- Lead production ramp-down planning and phased system handovers in line with shutdown and business plans.
- Act as operational focal point for PSSR activities, DRB meetings, and steering committees.
- Provide daily progress updates, shift priorities, and lead operational input at weekly shutdown meetings.
- Work closely with Process Engineers, Production Team Leads, Supervisors, Support Engineers and Technical Authorities to ensure standards, technical queries, and execution requirements are fully met.
- Develop production team rotas to ensure appropriate coverage and resourcing during shutdown.
- Prepare process ICCs and isolation plans for intrusive work, ensuring appropriate reinstatement testing and documentation.
- Support RV delivery strategy in collaboration with maintenance teams.
- Contribute to scope change evaluations, break-in assessments, and shutdown budget preparation.
- Build and lead a high-performing team that embodies a strong safety culture and company values.
- Provide clear communication, direction, and decision-making in complex or evolving shutdown environments.
- Promote technical excellence, continuous improvement, and effective knowledge sharing across teams.
- Manage workforce planning, wellbeing, resourcing, and performance management throughout the shutdown lifecycle.

- Strong safety mindset with thorough understanding of ALARP, risk assessments, and mitigations.
- Proven ability to manage time-critical workflows and adapt to evolving operational needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Extensive offshore production and process experience in similar shutdown-focused roles.
- Demonstrable experience leading shutdown operations, including isolations, risk assessments, reinstatement and completions.
- Strong track record of cross-disciplinary teamwork and communication.
Stakeholder Responsibilities
- Engage effectively with internal asset teams, offshore/terminal leadership, and external contractors.
- Provide influential leadership to individuals and teams who may not report directly to you.
- Support shutdown budget development and review associated CTRs and POs.
- Act as a key member of the site leadership team throughout the shutdown.
