Chemours is seeking a Senior Automation & Process Control Engineer to join our growing Manufacturing Technology team. This position is based at our Dordrecht Site, Baanhoekweg 22, Dordrecht, NL, and will report directly to the Manufacturing Technology Manager, Jeroen van de Rijt.

Job Summary

As a Senior Automation & Process Control Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in modernizing, integrating, and optimizing the automation landscape at our Dordrecht manufacturing site. You will work at the intersection of engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and process safety, shaping the performance and reliability of complex production units.

Expected Outcomes
  • A future-proof, integrated DCS/automation landscape aligned with site and global strategy.
  • Improved system reliability, cyber-resilience, and process safety standards across the plant.
  • Clear long-term investment recommendations to guide capital planning.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain the modernization roadmap for the site's DCS environment across Honeywell, Siemens, and ABB platforms.
  • Identify and assess system risks, integration challenges, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Analyse complex system behaviour, troubleshoot issues, and lead critical configuration changes.
  • Strengthen process safety and ensure compliance with ISA88, ISA95, and other automation standards.
  • Translate technical needs into long-term investment proposals.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, cybersecurity, and global technology teams.
  • Drive alignment and change management among stakeholders.
  • Balance strategic planning with hands-on engineering work.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in automation & process control.
  • Strong expertise with DCS, PLC, and SIS systems.
  • Experience with Honeywell, Siemens, or ABB control platforms.
  • Knowledge of OT networks, cybersecurity standards, and ISA standards.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in industrial cybersecurity, process safety, or control systems.
  • Experience leading transitions to modern, integrated DCS ecosystems.
  • Experience in matrixed engineering environments with international stakeholders.
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing or high-hazard industries.

Benefits
  • Salary is between 75,200 and €117,500.
  • 9% annual bonus target.

€75,200.00 - €117,500.00
