Job Description:

The Process Engineer will provide technical support to Tangguh LNG operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable LNG production. This role involves troubleshooting, process monitoring, engineering analysis, and supporting process improvements. The engineer will also chip in to process safety activities and collaborate with senior engineers to ensure plant performance and operational reliability! This position is based in the Jakarta office, with occasional travel to the Tangguh LNG site as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform troubleshooting process-related issues during normal operations, startup, shutdown, and upset conditions.
• • Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to identify causes of issues and suggest effective solutions.
• Develop engineering calculations to support solving, such as heat and mass balance checks, hydraulic evaluations, and equipment performance evaluations.
• Supervise and analyse key performance metrics for LNG plant systems, including CO₂ slip monitoring, MR/PR system balancing, and water/steam balance.
• Participate in hazard reviews (HAZOP, LOPA) and risk assessments, ensuring process safety is maintained.
• Support management of change (MoC) activities and help review process safety barriers to ensure their develop, operation, and maintenance are effective.
• Assist with alarm management rationalization and give to the clarity of operational procedures. Provide process engineering support for plant modifications, debottlenecking, and equipment replacements.
• Contribute to incident investigations, performance evaluations, and preparation of detailed technical reports for partners. Help maintain up-to-date process documentation to ensure clarity and accuracy in operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in chemical engineering.
• 5-10 years of process engineering experience in the oil & gas or LNG industry. Familiarity with LNG plant operations (both onshore and offshore systems) is preferred.
• Exposure to LNG plant startup, commissioning, or operational support would be an advantage.
• Proficient in simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS) and engineering calculations in line with industry standards.
• Experience with timely process monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., PI ProcessBook, PI Vision, Palantir) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of process safety principles and risk management techniques. Familiarity with process safety barrier management, including the use of bowtie diagrams.
• Basic knowledge of Locked Open and Locked Closed Valve (LOLC) management.
