We are looking for a HSE Superintendent for one of our clients with the following details:

Start date: 01 March 2026

Location: Fabrication Yard in China (TBC but most probably Nantong or Tianjin)

Duration: 12 months with possible extension

Status: Residential, 6 days per week

Priority given to Chinese nationals, then candidates who can speak Chinese (i.e Malaysian, Singaporean…), then expats already living in China

Qualification and Experience required:

• Minimum 15 years working experience of a high hazard industry, i.e. Construction, Oil & Gas, onshore plant and others including previous experience in HSE Supervisory role.
• Professional HSE qualification at Diploma / Degree level minimum (e.g. MSc occupational Health and Safety or NEBOSH diploma/Certificate)
• Understanding of development and construction activities.
• Good understanding of HSE policies and strategies, HSE Management Systems and Risks.
• Membership of an appropriate professional body.
• Experience in incident investigation.
• Familiarity with safety and environmental legislation.
• Knowledge of CPY group standards and/or previous experience with other major IOCs in large oil and gas construction projects.
• Experience in the implementation of behavioural safety systems and analyzing the data produced.
• Understanding of oil and gas production equipment, processes, and utility systems
• Experience reviewing and commenting on Contractor construction phase HSE plans and related documents.
• Good knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessments techniques.
• Good knowledge of HSE legislation and international standards, including IOGP standards, onshore plant standards, ISO and Company referential framework (Rules, Specifications, Guides).
• Ability to proactively drive positive change.
• Be a Role model to establish effective team working.
• Autonomy and previous experience in working transversally.
• Language: English as mother tongue or Fluent in English (speaking and writing), Fluent in Chinese is a plus.

Job Dimensions:

• The HSE SPDT. oversees implementing the HSE Management System for the overall cconstuction yard in China, and to monitor that the HSE values and requirements are understood and complied with by the Contractor
• The HSE SPDT. will advise and assist the GPP Site Representative in the management and control of HSE. The HSE SPDT. will also support and guide the Package team, including site personnel, in HSE matters.
