Senior Static & Rotating Equipment Engineer

Location: Qatar

Role Purpose

This position provides technical oversight and assurance across all static and rotating equipment engineering produced by external engineering consultants and vendors. The role also supports site construction, installation and commissioning activities for a major reinjection and processing development.

Key Responsibilities

• Review mechanical engineering deliverables from engineering consultants, including datasheets, specifications, layouts, calculations, stress reports and 3D model extracts.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, design requirements and project scope.
• Verify integration with Process, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation and Civil disciplines.
• Participate in model reviews and ensure equipment accessibility, maintainability and constructability.
• Review vendor documentation for all static and rotating equipment.
• Assess general arrangements, design reports, fabrication drawings, inspection and test plans, quality control plans and preservation procedures.
• Resolve technical queries and deviations, ensuring all vendor deliverables meet project requirements.
• Support technical evaluation during material requisition and bid assessment stages.
• Attend vendor meetings, design reviews and factory/site acceptance tests.
• Monitor vendor progress and communicate delays or technical risks.
• Review and approve installation method statements, lifting plans, alignment procedures and preservation/handling procedures.
• Provide on-site technical support during equipment erection and installation.
• Manage site technical queries, support non-conformance dispositions and verify corrective actions.
• Ensure equipment installation aligns with vendor manuals and project requirements.

Competencies

• Strong technical expertise in rotating equipment, dehydration packages, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and mechanical packages linked to pipeline systems.
• Proven ability to challenge, validate and assure consultant and vendor engineering.
• Solid construction, installation and mechanical completion knowledge.
• Familiarity with EPC environments and multi-disciplinary interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
• 12-15 years' relevant EPC experience with emphasis on equipment package engineering review and site support (mandatory).
