Job Title: DPA Manager

Location: Tanajib Base (Shore-Based), Saudi Arabia

Job Purpose
The DPA Manager leads and oversees the company’s QHSE and Safety Management System (SMS) functions, ensuring full compliance with international maritime regulations, client contract requirements, and internal policies. Acting as the Designated Person Ashore (DPA), the role maintains a direct, effective link between shore management and vessel operations, drives a proactive safety culture, safeguards the Company’s Document of Compliance (DOC), and ensures risks are reduced to ALARP.


The position is responsible for the development, implementation, and continual improvement of QHSE and SMS frameworks, while supervising the QHSSE Department and supporting operational excellence across both fleet and shore-based activities.

Key Responsibilities

QHSE Leadership & Compliance

  • Lead and monitor departmental QHSE performance in line with company objectives.

  • Oversee full compliance and continual development of the Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring alignment with DOC requirements, client expectations, and maritime industry standards.

  • Maintain the Company’s DOC annually, including audit preparation and compliance with certification processes.

  • Stay updated on changes in IMO, Class, Flag, and client-specific regulations, ensuring timely integration into operational systems.

Department Oversight

  • Manage and supervise QHSSE operations at Tanajib, ensuring effective implementation of policies, procedures, and performance targets.

  • Provide guidance to QHSSE personnel, promoting consistency and operational discipline.

Systems Management & Quality Assurance

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QHSE manuals, Safety Management System (SMS) documentation, and maritime operational procedures.

  • Serve as the Company’s Quality Administrator, ensuring compliance with client expectations, international standards, and internal quality frameworks.

  • Provide practical systems and procedures for offshore vessels and departments, ensuring risks are minimized to ALARP through proactive risk management practices.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Master Mariner Certificate of Competency (COC), valid and recognized by the appropriate authorities.

  • Minimum 8 years of maritime industry experience, ideally within offshore support vessels or similar operations.

  • At least 4 years of offshore experience as a Captain.

  • Proven managerial experience with strong leadership, communication, and supervisory skills in marine and/or QHSE environments.
