Job Description

We are looking for passionate people who are interested in learning new technologies and want to apply their knowledge to solve the most difficult problems and achieve optimal results. The successful candidate will join the DeltaV and AgileOps technical support engineering team, part of the globally leading Emerson Automation Solutions Lifecycle Services business. They will have the opportunity to work with an experienced engineering team to provide expert technical support and services to our installed base worldwide. This position is for the Pune India office and reports to the Global Service Center Pune Lead.

This role is expected to enhance the skills and abilities of the technical support team to support any of the following applications in Emerson's portfolio of products and solutions:

  • Software Applications
  • Human-Machine Interface (HMI). The ideal candidate should possess a strong skillset in configuring and implementing HMI within process control systems.
  • Network Communications, Cyber Security and Infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess a strong skillset in Networking and Security related technologies; and remain current in awareness of developing technology trends, security weaknesses/vulnerabilities, and innovations in networking systems and capabilities.
  • 3-4 years of industry experience in process automation field.


In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Provides technical support, consulting, and remote diagnostics for Emerson Automation Solutions products/systems, including DeltaV DCS, DeltaV SIS (Safety Instrumentation Systems), and DeltaV AgileOps installations for systems in Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Africa, North America and Latin America end-user customers and engineering organizations. This includes troubleshooting, problem analysis and creating solutions for hardware, software, installation, configuration, integration, and application issues and inquiries. Maintains ownership of all received customer problems, provides timely updates, and assigns the appropriate escalation priority.
  • Work to find solutions, reduce time to resolve product issues, and develop training and resolution resources such as procedures, diagnostics, and documentation.
  • Collaborates globally with local business partners and field service organizations, technology, marketing and manufacturing to resolve product issues and plan product design direction locally and globally.
  • Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or other Engineering and IT.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in process control or process engineering in at least one of the following process industries: hydrocarbon processing, oil and gas (onshore/offshore), pulp and paper, speciality chemicals, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, power generation.
  • Good experience in configuring control system, integrating third-party equipment, startup of process control projects, or on-going system maintenance/support.
  • Experience with DCS, PLC, or SCADA systems. Understanding of discrete, continuous, or batch controls; PC based user interface, Advanced Controls, Fieldbus or field devices. Knowledge of network, TCP/IP, and Windows operating systems.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems and to present clear and concise information to the team, internal customers, and external customers.
  • Flexibility to work on shift schedule.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work in a self-directed environment.
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills.

You develop and collect technical data to troubleshoot product issues that meet the customer expectations. You provide technical support to customers. You adjust the content and style of communication according to the needs of diverse partners. You ensure compliance with defined service level agreements.

For This Role, You Will Need:

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Knowledge or experience in any programming or scripting languages e.g. SQL, Visual Basic, C#, PowerShell, .NET
  • IT skills and experience in design, implementation, or service/support of any of the following areas
    • Network and Security fundamentals, principles, and concepts - design, maintenance, optimization and troubleshooting.
    • Cybersecurity solutions or cybersecurity standards and best practices. Information security related industry certifications are a plus, such as CISSP, CCNA, CISM, GSEC, ICS-CERT.
    • Virtualization hardware and software, Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare vSphere, Dell VRTX, networking (Ethernet, TCP/IP, etc.), and Windows operating systems (OS).
  • Engineering, FAT and Site Commissioning
  • Understanding of DeltaV Software, Hardware and Network
