Graduate Electrical Engineer – 12-Month Fixed Term
Location: Basingstoke, UK
Our client is offering an exciting 12-month opportunity for a recent graduate—either without industry experience or with some early career exposure—to join their Electrical Engineering team. This role provides valuable hands-on project experience within a supportive environment and is ideal for candidates with strong aptitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
About the Role
You will support electrical engineering activities across a range of project phases, including feasibility studies, FEED, EPC support, and decommissioning. Working alongside senior engineers, you’ll help develop electrical deliverables, complete calculations, and contribute to system design for major industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare calculations, design criteria, philosophies, SLDs, equipment specifications, datasheets, reports, and technical notes.
  • Support layout development, including cable routing, substation layouts, lighting, and earthing.
  • Assist with project coordination, maintaining technical integrity, schedule, and budget.
  • Keep up to date with industry standards and legislation while building technical competency.
  • Participate in short site visits to support project activities.
  • Uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Bring innovation, enthusiasm, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive “can-do” attitude with flexibility and willingness to learn.
  • Any exposure to electrical engineering tools (e.g., ETAP, DIALux), electrical design, or project environments is beneficial but not required.
This is an excellent opportunity to begin your electrical engineering career and gain real-world experience in a dynamic project environment.
The position will be based in Hampshire. For further information about this position please apply.
