RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Accountabilities:
- The Structural Engineer is accountable for reviewing EPC Contractor's structural deliverables, calculations, and drawings, ensuring they meet the project's functional, safety, and regulatory requirements. They will provide technical support during vendor and fabrication activities, witness critical inspections, and ensure smooth integration of structural components with other engineering disciplines. The role also includes monitoring EPC Contractor's interface management with fabrication yards, ensuring constructability, quality, and schedule compliance
- Review EPC Contractor's structural engineering deliverables (design reports, drawings, 3D models, analyses) to ensure compliance with specifications and codes
- Verify structural calculations and designs for jackets, topsides, modules, risers, boat landings, and flare structures
- Assess load conditions, fatigue, seismic, and environmental design parameters for offshore structures
- Review construction drawings, redline markups, and as-built documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Provide technical clarifications to EPC Contractor and participate in design review meetings (30%, 60%, 90% model reviews)
- Support constructability reviews to ensure fabrication and installation feasibility
- Monitor EPC Contractor's selection of materials, welding specifications, and corrosion protection methods
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams to review ITPs and witness inspections related to structural fabrication (welding, NDT, fit-up)
- Coordinate all activities between EPC Contractor and Certifying Authority and verify report or certification as per the specification or standard requirement
- Support COMPANY during fabrication, erection, loadout, and sea-fastening activities
- Ensure EPC Contractor adheres to SSHE standards in structural design and fabrication processes
- Support resolution of interface issues between structural, mechanical, piping, and E&I disciplines
- Provide input for technical risk assessments, change management, and lessons learned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Have at least seven (7) years' experience in oil and gas industry and minimum three (3) years as structural engineer related to Wellhead platform or Module construction for oil and gas industry
- Bachelor's degree in civil/Structural Engineering
- Have past project experience in seismic analysis at least 1 project
- Strong knowledge of offshore structural design codes and standards (API RP 2A, API RP 2EQ, AISC, ISO, DNV)
- Proficiency with structural analysis software includes SACS, GRLWEAP, USFOS, and ANSYS. Additionally, a strong understanding of STAAD.Pro, and BOCAD or TEKLA
- Proven background in fabrication support, welding specifications, and NDT processes
- Familiarity with loadout, lifting, and sea fastening procedures for offshore structures
- Understanding of corrosion protection systems (coating, CP design)
- Strong coordination skills across multi-discipline teams (process, mechanical, piping, E&I)
- Ability to conduct structural integrity assessments and modification design
- Familiarity with AVEVA E3D for structural modeling
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and technical report-writing skills
- SSHE awareness and commitment to safe engineering and construction practices
- Able to support the Construction Engineer to troubleshoot the fabrication, construction, installation at yard
