Position Overview:
The NDT Inspector is responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of seamless steel tubes through advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections using Ultrasonic (UT), Magnetic Particle (MT), and Electromagnetic Inspection (EMI) methods to detect internal and external defects.
- Review material specifications and instructions prior to inspection.
- Calibrate UT, MT, and EMI equipment according to procedures and customer requirements.
- Conduct manual and automated inspections, classify indications, and disposition material per standards.
- Remove surface defects using grinding tools and verify dimensional tolerances after repair.
- Perform visual inspections of internal and external surfaces of pipes.
- Provide feedback to supervisors and production teams to identify root causes of defects.
- Maintain workstation cleanliness and ensure equipment conservation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and company programs (e.g., 5S, Maintenance).
- Collect NDT data, verify execution of inspection standard work, and report deviations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical or engineering background preferred.
- NDT Level 1 or 2 certification in UT, EMI, and MT preferred.
- Ability to perform calculations involving second-degree equations, Snell’s law, and electromagnetism formulas.
- Knowledge of occupational safety and environmental standards.
- Minimum one year of experience in OCTG NDT and/or Quality preferred.
- Experience as quality auditor, lab technician, or inspector in threading or related manufacturing is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
