About the Role
An engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support a range of building services, infrastructure, and energy-focused projects across London. This role suits someone who enjoys solving complex electrical challenges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high-quality technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical designs, specifications, and technical documentation for new build and refurbishment projects.
- Produce load calculations, single-line diagrams, schematics, and layouts.
- Carry out site surveys, inspections, and assessments to support design and construction activities.
- Review contractor submissions, method statements, and material approvals for technical compliance.
- Support energy efficiency initiatives, electrical upgrades, and system optimisation works.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and structural teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Ensure electrical designs comply with relevant UK standards, regulations, and best practice guidance.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and project progress meetings.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in building services, infrastructure, utilities, or industrial electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of UK electrical standards such as BS 7671 and relevant IET/IEC standards.
- Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD and electrical calculation tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary environments.
- Solid problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-driven approach.
- Professional registration or working toward IEng/CEng is advantageous but not essential.
