Introduction

The Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (ME & EE) group is part of ASML's Development & Engineering department and focuses on industrializing new designs for production. Within this group, the FC-22/23 team is responsible for the industrialization of mains distribution and safety handling. The ME and EE group are responsible for work preparation for new product implementation. During this process, we estimate the time required for operators to perform specific actions. Currently, these estimations rely on hardware-based tools, which are difficult to apply to certain factory activities. The goal of this internship is to create a practical baseline for cycle time estimations that can be used during the early phase of work instruction creation, improving accuracy and efficiency.

Your assignment

You will develop a baseline for cycle time estimations that can be applied during the initial phase of creating work instructions. This will replace the current hardware-based tool, which is difficult to use for certain factory actions.

Your main responsibilities will be:
  • Analyze the current tool for cycle time estimations.
  • Study work instructions and cycle time registrations in the factory.
  • Identify patterns and key factors influencing cycle times.
  • Compile findings into a practical baseline for new estimations.
  • Validate the baseline with real-world examples.
  • Document your approach and recommendations clearly.
  • Share insights with the team to support future improvements.

This is a vocational & bachelor (thesis) internship and master internship for minimum 6 months, minimum 4-5 days per week (3 days on-site). The start date of this internship is as of February 2026.
