Location: North West (Warrington / Darwen office base) - may be home-based

The Role:
  • Reporting to the Energy Service Manager, you will be field based, working from home/office, across the UK (mostly in the North) in this front-line customer facing role.

  • You will adhere to regulatory and Company health, safety and environmental policy and, as this is a customer-facing role, you will be required to positively influence the Valmet reputation by displaying a professional dedication toward customer service.

  • You will be involved in the delivery of projects, maintenance and breakdown services to Valmet's UK installed base of customers' Biomass and Waste to Energy power plants within the industrial power generation sector.

  • You will provide routine and on demand customer service including planning and coordination of installation and maintenance activities ad well as managing subcontract/ supplier work packages from creation of Requests for Quotation documents through procurement and delivery.

  • Detailed reporting of progress, including any issues, delays and contract variations throughout the course of the project.

  • Handling of contract variations both up and down stream to ensure financial success of the project.

  • Responsible for stock control of equipment and tooling.

  • Working with colleagues in Finland and Sweden, you will prepare sales proposals, sales budgets and actions plans as well being involved in service related marketing action plans, identification of HSE and technical training needs, and the delivery of training to meet workforce needs.

  • You will also participate in service project deliveries and troubleshooting, maintain customer contacts, give presentations and negotiate sales.

Expectations:

You will
  • Have a technical background with a minimum of an HNC or equivalent in mechanical / process / thermal engineering
  • Have a strong knowledge of power generation processes, a minimum of five years' experience from power plant operation and/or engineering with a proven record of success in service business and/or sales management in the power generation industry
  • Be highly motivated, with excellent leadership, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to form and maintain working relationships with customers and colleagues at all levels.
  • Good organisational and project management skills
  • Be collaborative and supportive in your approach to working as part of a team
  • Have strong knowledge and experience of HSE requirements when executing projects
  • Have good sales skills and business acumen
  • Be able to effectively outline, promote and recommend the Company's products / services and solutions to provide for the long-term operation / improvement of customer processes
  • Be fluent in writing and speaking English
  • Good technical report writing skills
  • Be willing to travel in the UK regularly and overseas occasionally

You may
  • Have good installation experience
  • Have knowledge of high-pressure welding
  • Be familiar with CAD / Solidworks
