Partly remoteThe Construction Consultancy Services (CCS) team provide client-side construction consultancy services across a range of professional disciplines to deliver capital build projects and programmes of all sizes, value and complexity on behalf of Durham County Council. The team and has an expanding mechanical and electrical design requirement. As such we are seeking applications from candidates the role of Electrical Design Engineer.
In this role you will provide high-quality electrical design, advice and technical solutions for construction projects. You will be a member of a team of professionals. Our staff are experienced in construction design and management and hold a diverse range of professional accreditation and chartership including MCIBSE, IHE, CIOB, RICS, CIAT and RIBA.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
In the role of Electrical Design Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for conducting the electrical design for a wide range of building projects. In some cases, acting as the project lead fulfilling project management, contract administration and principal designer duties. In other cases, fulfilling lead designer or sub-consultant designer duties as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

This is a career band role and as such we are interested in applications from people with a differing range of knowledge and experience in line with the criteria for each of the grades on offer. Appointment will be made at the grade level depending on relevant experience.

- Design and develop electrical building services and layouts for building projects
- Prepare detailed schematics, calculations, drawings and specifications using software.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet client requirements and regulatory standards.
- Support procurement by preparing technical specifications and reviewing supplier proposals.
