JOB DESCRIPTION

Working alone or in a team, you'll tackle complex challenges across a range of tasks. Meeting customers deadlines for installation of data processing equipment, communication setup and bringing critical equipment online with accuracy and efficiency.

The role is ideal for engineers who enjoy hands-on problem-solving, independence, and contributing to industry safety and performance.

Relocation to a remote workshop base is a possibility.

Responsibilities:

• Install, calibrate, commission and troubleshoot Data acquisition systems designed for each type of rig, typically 24v instrumentation systems.
• Install, calibrate, commission and troubleshoot gas systems, formation gas or atmospheric gas.
• Install, commission and troubleshoot network systems, both LAN and WAN networks.
• Understand and promote all digital services products to our clients.
• Perform off-site repairs.
• Complete service reports and delivery documents before leaving site.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels and tracking assets
• Support assembly and testing in main workshop.
• Ensure compliance with all NOV HSE policies and procedures

Occasional duties:

• Provide weekend operational support when requested.
• Collaborate with our support engineers on joint service jobs
• Be available to travel on short notice for emergency call outs.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years rig experience, understanding drilling processes.
• Familiarity with Electrical diagnostics and calibration equipment.
• Proficient in fault finding on electrical circuits.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents
• Background in networking.
• Willingness to travel throughout SE Asia on short notice.

Desirable:

• Experienced in PLC
• Hazardous area installation license
• Previous experience working as Mudlogging or MWD on Oil/Gas rigs
