Job Description

The Project Engineer - Electrical (Data Centre) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all electrical works related to data centre projects. This includes ensuring compliance with design specifications, international standards, and project timelines while maintaining the highest level of safety and quality.

A. Project Execution & Coordination

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing all electrical activities for the data centre project.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth progress.
• Review IFC drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Coordinate with EL Supervisor/Foreman for daily site activities.
• Monitor work progress and ensure alignment with project timelines.

B. Technical & Engineering Support

• Prepare material submittals, technical queries (TQ), method statements, and shop drawings.
• Ensure installation complies with project requirements, codes, and standards (NFPA, DEWA, Uptime Tier standards, etc.).
• Assist in load calculations, cable sizing, and equipment selection.
• Support engineering team in preparing as-built documentation.

C. Quality & Safety

• Ensure quality control throughout all electrical works.
• Conduct inspections and testing as per ITPs.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE requirements and risk assessments.

D. Procurement & Material Management

• Prepare material requisitions in line with project BOQ.
• Follow up with suppliers and procurement team for timely delivery.
• Verify materials on site and ensure proper storage and handling.

E. Testing, Commissioning & Handover

• Assist with testing and commissioning of electrical systems (LV, ELV, UPS, generators, grounding, lighting, etc.).
• Coordinate with specialist vendors for commissioning activities.
• Prepare handover documents and ensure successful project closure.
