EngineeringNES Fircroft are delighted to be partnering with an Energy operator client who are looking to add a Reliability Program Manager to their team working in Marseille, South of France.
The role will work for the end user client supporting operation of a major crude oil refinery facility supporting the clients efforts to increase reliability and production capacity of the terminal.
The position will be a contract-based opportunity for a duration expected to be a minimum 6-12 months with excellent potential to extend well beyond. Suitable candidates will be required to be fluent in French and be present at site minimum 75% of the time. Day rate will be an all in rate and is negotiable depending on sutiability and experience.

The Reliability Program Manager will design and deliver a strategic reliability program for the client Refinery, convert refinery data into prioritized workstreams, oversee execution of existing initiatives, and report program progress to site leadership. This is a hands on, interim role requiring both leadership and technical execution.

Key responsibilities
- Lead development of a site reliability strategy based on historical failure data, asset criticality and business priorities.
- Analyze refinery data (CMMS, production, failure logs, condition monitoring) to identify root causes and high value interventions.
- Prioritise projects to compete for available program funds using ROI, risk reduction and production impact criteria.
- Oversee execution of preexisting initiatives, provide governance, and consolidate progress reporting into the overall program dashboard.
- Execute and mentor — perform hands on reliability engineering tasks (RCA, FMEA, CBM setup, spares strategy) and coach site teams.
- Plan and coordinate short shutdowns or interventions where required; manage contractors and scope.
- Deliver clear, regular reporting to site leadership including KPIs, cost vs benefit, and recommended next steps.
- Deliverables: Reliability strategy document; prioritized project pipeline; monthly program dashboard; RCA/FMEA reports; implementation playbooks.
- KPIs: MTBF improvement targets; reduction in unplanned downtime; project ROI; forecast vs actual savings; % of projects executed on schedule.
- Experience: 10 years in reliability/maintenance roles within refinery, petrochemical or heavy process industries; proven track record of delivering reliability programs.
- Technical skills: CMMS mastery, RCA/FMEA, condition based monitoring (vibration, oil analysis, thermography), asset criticality modelling.
- Leadership: Strong stakeholder management, ability to lead crossfunctional teams and influence budget decisions.
- Language: Fluent French required; professional English preferred.
- Work style: Willing to be handson and work on site ≥75%; flexible for 6–12 month assignment.
