Client-Sided Role
The job holder is a member of the Site FOPS team and reports to the Site Manager. The role is responsible for managing all Petroleum Logistics activities supporting Field Operations at the site, covering the Industrial Area (Operational Camp, Operations Support Base, Chemical Storage Area) and all well pads. The position supports complex, multi-location production facilities operating in a SIMOPS/COMOPS environment.
Key Responsibilities:
HSE
Ensure full compliance with Company, Affiliate, and Site HSE Management Systems for all logistics activities performed by Company personnel and contractors. Implement actions to meet HSE objectives and KPIs, ensure accurate HSE reporting, and enforce best practices across catering, chemical management, warehousing, special machinery, and transportation contracts. Act as Operating Authority for logistics areas and ensure the logistics team is trained in ePTW and relevant digital HSE tools. Contribute to environmental management in line with ISO 14001 requirements.
Operations & Logistics
Establish and implement the petroleum logistics organization, procedures, and management systems required for operations. Lead logistics contract readiness prior to start-up and manage preparation, commissioning, handover, and start-up of the Operational Camp, Support Base, Chemical Storage Area, and related facilities. Act as focal point for key petroleum logistics contracts and manage the site logistics team.
Ensure effective stock management for maintenance spares and consumables, including SAP (UNISOL) usage, and oversee transportation, lifting, chemical logistics, warehousing, fuel, and special machinery operations. Ensure availability of logistics resources to support FOPS activities across all project locations and supervise chemical storage and diesel control systems.
Contracts, Budget & Performance
Lead contract implementation and monthly reviews, develop KPIs, and contribute to budget preparation. Ensure effective contractor performance management and smooth transition from project to operations.
Digital & Systems
Ensure logistics digital tools are identified, implemented, and effectively used by the team to support safe and efficient operations.
HR & Governance
Develop team competency and individual development plans, promote cross-functional coordination, and ensure compliance with Company rules and applicable international and Ugandan regulations. The role is accountable for the implementation of petroleum logistics at the project prior to First Oil and for ongoing logistics support to all FOPS departments at site.
Required Expertise:
Qualification:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering (i.e. Petroleum, industrial, mechanical).
Experience:
· Minimum 10 years’ broad practical experience in the field of Petroleum Logistic at Operational Oil and Gas producing site.
· Experience in procedure, instruction and philosophies development.
· Experience in Contract SOW preparation, KPI development, performance assessment preparation.
· English is a mandatory.
