JOB DESCRIPTION

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure engineering activities comply with safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies.
  • Champion process safety initiatives and participate in audits, HAZOPs, and incident investigations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and standards for equipment, systems, and processes.


Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technical specialists.
  • Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and development plans for the engineering team.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and technical excellence.


Plant Engineering & Reliability

  • Oversee design and optimization of plant equipment, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide expert guidance to Operations and Maintenance.


Process Improvement & Optimization

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Lead root-cause analyses and implement corrective actions for process deviations or equipment failures.
  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to optimize manufacturing performance.


Capital Projects

  • Manage planning, justification, and execution of capital projects ranging from equipment upgrades to facility expansions.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations to support daily production goals and resolve technical challenges.
  • Work with Quality to ensure manufacturing processes meet product specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Procurement on equipment sourcing and vendor evaluation.
  • Work with Maintenance to prevent electrical and mechanical obsolescence of controls and equipment.
  • Partner with HSE to incorporate company health, safety, and environmental requirements into plant equipment and processes.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing engineers, supervisors, or technical teams preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading reliability programs, process improvement initiatives, or capital projects.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
  • Deep understanding of plant systems, manufacturing processes, and industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, reliability engineering, or project management methodologies preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of OSHA, environmental regulations, and industry-specific safety standards preferred.
