Role Overview

The Regulatory Compliance Engineer ensures that projects and operations comply with applicable regulatory, statutory, and classification requirements. The role acts as the central interface between internal departments, regulatory authorities, and certification bodies, supporting both project execution and operational activities. The position contributes to risk management, certification, and continuous compliance within complex technical environments.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Coordinate regulatory compliance activities with authorities, classification societies, and internal stakeholders.
2. Manage submission, review, and approval of engineering documentation required for regulatory compliance.
3. Monitor certification status, surveys, permits, and regulatory approvals for projects and operations.
4. Prepare and maintain regulatory compliance plans, procedures, and registers.
5. Act as liaison during internal and external audits, inspections, and surveys.
6. Assess regulatory risks and advise on compliant and practical solutions.
7. Track and communicate compliance status to project, asset, and line management.

Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Experience in regulatory compliance, certification, or assurance within maritime, offshore, or industrial environments.
• Knowledge of international regulations, statutory requirements, and classification rules.
• Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Structured, analytical, and risk-aware working approach.
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally and work in operational environments.
• Experience with audits, surveys, and regulatory authorities is an advantage.
