About the Opportunity

As a Quality Assurance Officer, you play a key role in safeguarding the quality, food safety, and brand integrity of our products. You monitor the quality of incoming raw materials, products during production and packing, and the finished goods. You work closely with production, technical teams, and suppliers to ensure all processes comply with defined specifications, procedures, and legislation.
You are highly visible on the production floor, act quickly when deviations occur, and actively contribute to a safe, hygienic, and efficient working environment. You consistently demonstrate our values of passion, humility, and trustworthiness in everything you do.

Responsibilities

As a Quality Assurance Officer , you carry out quality checks and monitor processes during production and packing. You work closely with production, technical teams, and suppliers, contributing to the consistent application and continuous improvement of quality and safety standards.

Quality & Food Safety
  • Carry out intake quality assessments and send daily reports to suppliers
  • Monitor product quality during the packing process (quality, approvals , labelling, packaging, and customer specifications)
  • Verify that products meet customer specifications and complete positive release checks
  • Conduct shelf-life assessments
  • Take samples for analysis and quality control
  • Perform metal detection, checkweigher, and other routine quality checks (daily, weekly, and monthly)

Processes & Collaboration
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed correctly
  • Liaise with production management and allocation teams regarding quality-related deviations
  • Support the QA Manager and QA Supervisors
  • Support operational teams and other departments where required
  • Independently manage and oversee up to three production lines

Safety & Hygiene
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, hygiene, and site security
  • Work according to the "clean as you go" principle
  • Comply with environmental rules and procedures

Other
  • Calibrate measuring and monitoring equipment
  • Prepare samples and support the Technical team
  • Carry out other ad hoc duties as required

Candidate Profile

You are a proactive and detail-oriented quality professional who can work independently in a fast-paced environment. You communicate clearly, stay organised, and collaborate effectively with multiple teams to ensure consistent quality outcomes.
Additionally, you are flexible, as our business runs continuously, which is why availability during weekends is required, and you will work in shifts (morning-afternoon or afternoon-evening). Since our products are fresh, they must be kept at the right temperature. This means the working environment is cool, but of course, we make sure you are properly dressed.
  • Proven experience in a similar quality role, preferably within the soft fruit or food industry is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, food safety standards, and customer specifications is plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally and credibly with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented
  • Well organised, resilient, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • A team player who collaborates effectively across disciplines and cultures
  • Good IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
