Your Role

In this position, you will combine mechanical and mechatronic expertise to design and develop next-generation robot mechanics. Your work will focus on the design and analysis of mechanics - performing kinematic, dynamic and strength calculations- while contributing to innovative concepts and detailed designs.

You will be part of Codian Robotics, the leading innovator in Pick & Place robots, operating under B&R (part of the ABB Group). Our robots are used worldwide in industries such as food and packaging and logistics. As we expand our R&D team, we are looking for an enthusiastic engineer who thrives on solving technical challenges and wants to make an impact in a fast-growing, international environment.

You will join a team of passionate designers and engineers working on state-of-the-art robot-mechanics. Your ideas and calculations will directly influence the performance and precision of our robots. This is your chance to shape the future of industrial robotics.

What you will do:

• Work independently on R&D projects, from concept to implementation.
• Perform analysis of robot concepts, for example kinematic and dynamic calculations.
• Analyze mechanical designs with for example finite element calculations.
• Create mechanical designs in CAD.
• Test and verify robots and their subsystems.
• Support assembly and act as technical contact for suppliers.
• Assist Sales with technical inquiries and pilot applications.
• Ensure compliance with standards, guidelines, and design constraints.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong ability to perform calculations.
• Experience in machine design and analysis; affinity with food or packaging industry is a plus.
• Skilled in CAD design.
• Hands-on mentality and interest in prototyping.
• Solution-oriented, with strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
