JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose:
-
Provide technical contribution for reservoir development and recovery optimisation, integrating lessons learned from historical post-mortems and well performance reports
-
Identify and mature appraisal and development opportunities, feeding into development projects
Field Context:
-
Large offshore oil field environment, with significant oil, water, and gas injection operations
-
Each reservoir requires static and dynamic modeling; sector models used to validate development wells and work-over opportunities
-
EOR projects under study with regular data acquisition and pilot campaigns
Key Responsibilities:
-
Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies during all reservoir-related operations and team activities
-
Implement and validate core reservoir engineering techniques including well test analysis, PLT interpretation, decline curve analysis, material balance, nodal analysis, and PVT studies
-
Lead dynamic reservoir simulation work with autonomy, applying advanced methodologies and integrating production, development, and appraisal well data
-
Coordinate specialty studies and integrate results across disciplines for robust reservoir models
-
Drive EOR maturation by developing deployment strategies, supported by business cases and simulation/laboratory programs
-
Oversee third-party contractors for EOR evaluation and de-risking, maintaining and updating EOR roadmap through decision gates
-
Propose and manage reservoir data acquisition programs (fluids, SCAL, well tests, logs, cores) to support EOR studies and technology trials
-
Actively participate in EOR field trials, monitoring plans and ensuring alignment with field development objectives
Context and Environment:

Office-based in Doha, Qatar, standard office hours, 5 days per week

Deliver high-quality, reliable technical results with full transparency on assumptions and limitations

Lead reservoir aspects of EOR studies, including proposing work plans, mentoring junior engineers, and coordinating specialist teams

Facilitate collaboration across subsurface disciplines and interface with drilling, completions, and well performance teams
-
Operate effectively in a multicultural, multinational, matrix organisation

Apply structured study and maturation processes through workshops and reviews, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget compliance

Maintain continuous focus on project quality using “fit-for-purpose” principles, adapting based on quality reviews

Act as a recognised technical specialist, influencing decisions, solving complex challenges, and contributing to organisational practices and procedures

Support knowledge sharing, external networking, and workforce development initiatives, including coaching and staff development
Qualifications and Experience:
-
15+ years of experience in reservoir engineering or related roles in the oil and gas sector, with at least 5 years dedicated to EOR roles (Polymer, surfactant, WAG, or other reservoir contact enhancement methods)

Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in Reservoir or Petroleum Engineering discipline

Extensive reservoir and geoscience experience in operated assets, strong skills in dynamic modeling; EOR modeling experience is highly advantageous

Proven ability to work independently, make confident technical decisions, and deliver results

Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and ability to work transversely across disciplines

Demonstrated personal qualities: persuasive, open-minded, hardworking, and delivery-oriented, with strong interpersonal and teamwork capabilities

International exposure preferred, especially Middle East experience

Fluency in written and spoken English
