We are looking for a Laboratory Specialist for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Sohar, Oman

Service Status: Resident (5 days per week)

Start Date: March 2026

Duration: 12 months (renewable)

Qualification and Experience required:

• This position is open to local hire only (expat in Oman)
• Master's Degree in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering.
• Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required).
• Arabic is a plus.
• Professional Experience: +15 years' experience in the Oil & Gas industry with a full understanding of laboratory activities and procedures, expertise in laboratory discipline.
• Experience in projects with large onshore plants and LNG plants is a plus.
• Experience in similar position (years): + 5 years in an LNG plant laboratory in a supervisory role in a multi-cultural environment.

Service Purpose:

• The Laboratory Specialist is part of the team for the LNG Bunkering Project, a key initiative within OQEP and company transition strategy. In this critical role, they will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of preparing all necessary laboratory equipment, Manuals and Operating Procedures, and ensuring the laboratory is available and fully operational for plant Start-up: personnel, equipment and adequate supply of chemicals and consumables. They will report directly to the Commissioning & Start-up Methods Lead.
• The Laboratory Specialist shall develop and implement the permanent Laboratory Information Management System. They shall also ensure mentorship and training of the routine operation laboratory personnel.
