This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we've announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. This Position reports to:
Operations Manager
Your Role and Responsibilities :
Work model: onsite
Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) to meet technical agreement with customers.
Perform detailed engineering analysis, including DFM.
Create technical drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for manufacturing.
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards.
Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities to verify design performance and durability.
Troubleshoot design issues, propose improvements, and implement cost-saving and innovated solutions.
Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and manufacturing technologies to enhance design efficiency and innovation, competitiveness.
Qualifications for the Role:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or above.
3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in lab automation and robotics industries.
Good communication in English both in written and oral is preferrable.
Customer minded person and good team worker.
Result oriented and stress resistant person, willing to take risk and responsibility to help the business growth.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, casting, sheet metal).
Experience with simulation tools for stress analysis and thermal modeling is preferrable.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
