Senior Production Operator CPF (Start-up) - Uganda

Location: Buliisa, Uganda (Site-Based)
Rotation: 28 Days On / 28 Days Off

An experienced Start-Up Support Senior Production Operator is required to lead field operations during commissioning, start-up, and early operation of a large onshore Central Processing Facility (CPF) in Uganda. This is a hands-on senior role responsible for safe execution of start-up activities, mentoring junior operators, and ensuring stable, compliant operations across oil, gas, water treatment, and utility systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed start-up procedures and pre-start-up checklists.
• Participate in commissioning activities, operational tests, troubleshooting, and punch list clearance.
• Lead CPF start-up activities in the field, ensuring strict adherence to procedures.
• Operate and monitor process and utility systems safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot abnormal operating conditions and implement corrective actions.
• Support export nomination targets and minimise production or injection shortfalls.
• Act as isolating authority and certified gas tester under the PTW system.
• Perform and supervise L1 and L2 maintenance activities.
• Conduct routine field rounds, inspections, sampling, and housekeeping.
• Lead emergency response actions as required and participate as an ERT member.
• Prepare accurate field reports, logbooks, and handover documentation.
• Mentor and train junior operators, supporting competency development.
• Act as a safety role model and technical leader on site.

Candidate Profile

• Diploma of Higher Education / BTCE or equivalent in production or operational safety.
• 7 years’ experience in oil & gas operations, with 2 years in a senior operator role.
• Strong knowledge of oil, gas, water treatment, and utilities systems.
• Familiar with DCS operations and field-based troubleshooting.
• Certified or capable of acting as isolating authority and gas tester.
• Experience working under PTW, SIMOPS, and emergency response frameworks.
• Physically fit for site work and use of breathing apparatus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and reporting skills.
• Fluent in English.
