This Position reports to:
Sales Support Manager

As a Graduate Electrical Studies Engineer within ABB's Energy Industries business, you will support the sales and studies teams in developing and delivering robust electrical power system solutions for a wide range of customers. The role provides hands-on exposure to power system modelling, analysis and engineering design across both traditional and low-carbon generation projects, working collaboratively with sales, engineering and operations teams. This position offers an excellent foundation for building strong technical capability alongside commercial awareness within a global engineering organisation.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

- Work model: onsite at our St Neots, Cambridgeshire location {#LI-Onsite}

  • Aiding sales & studies team colleagues in delivering electrical power system designs and recommending optimum solutions.
  • Design and develop models of power system infrastructure including traditional and low-carbon generation sources to a variety of loads.
  • Conduct load flow, short-circuit, harmonics, protection coordination and other relevant simulations using tools such as Powerfactory, PSCAD, ETAP
  • Liaising with Operations teams to execute detailed engineering designs.
  • Prepare technical specifications and equipment standards and support procurement processes.
  • Create well structured and detailed reports using results of simulations and other calculations


Qualifications for the Role

  • Bachelor's (or master's) degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and understanding of electrical network components
  • Capability to perform engineering calculations and interpret technical drawings.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder engagement
  • Familiarity with protection coordination, fault analysis, and system reliability concepts
  • Located close to, or willing to relocate to, St Neots, Cambridgeshire
  • Full UK Driver's License
