Overview
An international energy operator is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to support major onshore facilities during project execution, commissioning, and start-up. This role sits at the interface between engineering, projects, and operations, with a strong focus on safety, operability, and long-term asset performance.
You will play a key role in ensuring new facilities are delivered to operational standards, supporting safe start-up, and optimising plant performance across complex process units.
Key Responsibilities

Provide process engineering support during engineering, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases through to handover to operations

Participate in process safety and risk assessments, including hazard identification, operability reviews, and reliability studies

Review and provide technical input into designs, procedures, and operating philosophies to ensure safe and reliable operations

Support development and review of operating procedures for new and modified facilities

Implement process monitoring and surveillance activities to ensure safe, stable, and optimised production

Troubleshoot process deviations and provide engineering recommendations with timely escalation of operational risks

Participate in system walkdowns and commissioning readiness activities prior to start-up

Identify, track, and resolve critical technical issues that may impact reliability, availability, or long-term asset integrity

Support high-risk commissioning and start-up activities through close monitoring, optimisation, and advisory support to operations and maintenance teams

Collaborate closely with multi-discipline engineering teams, operations, contractors, and external specialists
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering

Minimum 8 years experience in oil and gas or large-scale energy processing facilities

Strong experience supporting projects during commissioning and start-up phases

Solid understanding of process safety, operability, and reliability principles

Ability to work effectively under pressure in complex operational environments

Strong communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English

Proven ability to work collaboratively across engineering, operations, and project teams
