Location: Qatar (Onshore, office-based role)
Work Arrangement: Resident role, standard office hours
Working Pattern: 5 days on / 2 days off, 8 hours per day
Assignment Period: 1 February 2026 to 31 December 2028
Contract Type: Secondment
Mobilisation: One mobilisation and demobilisation ticket provided
Notice Period: Two months
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Reservoir Engineer to support the effective management and optimisation of producing reservoirs within an onshore operating environment. This role focuses on maximising production performance through robust reservoir management practices, surveillance planning, opportunity identification, and close collaboration with subsurface and operational teams.
The position is well suited to an engineer who enjoys working across disciplines, applying analytical thinking to complex reservoir challenges, and driving value through data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, implement, and closely monitor reservoir surveillance programmes

Identify and execute reservoir management initiatives to maximise production and improve voidage replacement

Perform simulation and special studies to support well and field performance improvements

Develop and optimise well designs using advanced reservoir and well modelling techniques

Identify, rank, and mature production and injection improvement opportunities through to final approval

Generate short-term production forecasts and rolling profiles on a regular basis

Conduct post-activity evaluations for new wells and workovers

Review well performance and well patterns, recommending remedial actions where required

Support optimisation and monitoring of injection and enhanced recovery cycles

Contribute data and analysis to integrated asset and reserves workflows

Work closely with operations, drilling, engineering, and subsurface teams to ensure alignment

Provide technical support and guidance to peers within the team
Key Activities

Perform detailed well performance analysis and decline assessments

Carry out subsurface studies to improve production and injection efficiency

Execute reservoir simulation studies to optimise injection strategies and forecasting

Use dynamic modelling and seismic interpretation to improve sweep efficiency and zonal allocation

Maintain and manage a portfolio of reservoir opportunities through defined governance stages

Support planning and execution of workovers and well interventions

Contribute to annual reservoir management planning and performance reviews

Prepare and present technical reviews to internal stakeholders
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline

Master’s degree is preferred

Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a subsurface or reservoir engineering role

Experience working on operated assets within a multidisciplinary environment
