Welding Engineer (Oil & Gas EPC Project) 
Location: Leatherhead - UK (Resident)
Missions Abroad: Yes – approx. 4 weeks per year
Contract Duration: 2 years
Start Date: March 2026

Role Overview
We are currently recruiting an experienced Welding Engineer to support a major Oil & Gas EPC development. The role covers detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction phases, with full responsibility for welding and material discipline activities, ensuring compliance with international standards, project specifications, and H3SE requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and enforce strict compliance with H3SE and safe working practices
  • Act as focal point for all welding and materials discipline matters within the project scope
  • Review, validate, and approve welding documentation (WPS, WPQR, qualifications, technical queries, deviation requests)
  • Supervise and control detailed engineering deliverables issued by contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Monitor contractor progress, identify risks or deviations, and propose corrective or optimization measures
  • Participate in audits, inspections, quality walkthroughs, and technical coordination meetings
  • Witness and assess welding qualifications, welder/operator approvals, and mechanical/corrosion testing
  • Supervise special processes such as heat treatment, induction bending, forging, and cladding
  • Assess welding environments, facilities, equipment, consumable management, and HSE arrangements
  • Coordinate closely with QA/QC, corrosion, coating, and other discipline specialists
  • Provide regular reporting to the Engineering Manager on progress, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Capture lessons learned (REX) and contribute to project close-out activities
Candidate Profile Experience:
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in Oil & Gas projects
  • At least 10 years’ experience as a Welding Engineer on large-scale EPC developments
  • Proven experience working with international EPC contractors
Technical Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards, including:
    • ASME B31.3 (Piping)
    • AWS D1.1 (Structural)
    • ASME BPVC (Pressure Vessels)
Education & Certification:
  • International Welding Engineer (IWE) diploma (IIW / EWF / ESSA or equivalent) – essential
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Materials, Metallurgical, Mechanical, or related discipline)
Languages:
  • Fluent English
