Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Telecom Engineer to support a major Oil & Gas EPC development. The role covers detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning support for telecommunications systems, ensuring full compliance with project specifications, international standards, and HSE requirements.
The successful candidate will act as a key technical interface between engineering teams, EPC contractors, system vendors, and construction teams, ensuring high-quality design and execution of telecom systems across the project lifecycle.

Role Overview

The role covers detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning support for telecommunications systems, ensuring full compliance with project specifications, international standards, and HSE requirements.
The successful candidate will act as a key technical interface between engineering teams, EPC contractors, system vendors, and construction teams, ensuring high-quality design and execution of telecom systems across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure telecom engineering activities comply with approved specifications, standards, and contractual requirements
- Perform quality reviews of detailed engineering documentation and vendor deliverables related to telecom systems
- Review and respond to technical queries, deviation requests, and material substitutions
- Support procurement activities, including technical preparation, vendor document review, FATs, and SATs
- Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams to ensure successful field execution
- Actively interface with other engineering disciplines to ensure consistency across design, construction, and operations
- Participate in technical reviews (design reviews, 3D model reviews, HAZOPs, SILs, FATs, SATs) providing telecom expertise
- Coordinate with EPC contractors and system vendors to ensure timely issuance of deliverables in line with approved schedules
- Monitor contractor progress and contribute to recovery plans where delays are identified
- Support integration of telecom systems without disruption to existing facilities
- Prepare activity reports and contribute to coordination and progress meetings
- Promote and enforce HSE, ethics, and compliance requirements
- 10–15 years’ experience in Oil & Gas projects as a Senior or Lead Telecom Engineer
- Proven experience working with international EPC contractors on large-scale projects
- Previous brownfield engineering and execution experience is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of telecom systems including:
- OTN, IP Networks, WAN/LAN, Industrial Wireless Networks
- Radio systems (UHF, VHF, TETRA)
- Security systems (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, ANPR)
- PAGA and emergency communication systems
- Ship-to-shore and integrated communication systems
- Hands-on experience with fibre optic and copper cabling network design
- Familiarity with hazardous area requirements (Ex d, Ex i, Ex e)
- Solid understanding of international telecom codes and standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar
- Fluent English
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to lead technical discussions with contractors and vendors
- Proactive, autonomous, and solution-oriented
- Comfortable working in complex, multicultural project environments
