This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical) to join our Singapore Business Unit, for executing mechanical commissioning and pre‑commissioning activities for static and rotating equipment, piping systems, package units, and utilities. This role is a full-time office-based role in Basra, Iraq with travel requirement.

Role:
The Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical) is responsible for executing mechanical commissioning and pre‑commissioning activities for static and rotating equipment, piping systems, package units, and utilities. The role ensures all systems are safely prepared, tested, functionally checked, and handed over to Operations in accordance with project specifications and international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical pre commissioning activities:
- Flushing, cleaning, blowing
- Leak testing (hydrostatic/pneumatic)
- Lube oil flushing
- Mechanical integrity checks
- Execute commissioning activities for:
- Rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, blowers, turbines)
- Static equipment (vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, filters)
- Package units (air compressors, HVAC, fire pumps, water treatment units)
- Support mechanical runs, solo runs, and performance tests.
- Prepare and verify MC, Pre Comm, and Commissioning dossiers.
- Conduct mechanical walkdowns and generate punch lists in line with project procedures.
- Ensure redline mark ups and as built documentation are accurately maintained.
- Diagnose mechanical issues during equipment testing and start-up.
- Ensure correct alignment and soft-foot checks for rotating equipment.
- Coordinate vendor representatives for specialized equipment commissioning.
- Provide input on technical queries (TQs) and site modifications (FCRs).
- Work closely with construction, QA/QC, vendors, and commissioning teams.
- Ensure readiness of pre commissioning/commissioning work fronts—materials, spares, tools, consumables.
- Participate in daily commissioning coordination meetings.
- Ensure compliance with international standards:
- ASME, API, ASTM
- ISO, NFPA
- Monitor and verify torque tightening, bolt tensioning, alignment reports, and material traceability.
- Verify ITP compliance and ensure all tests and inspections meet project specifications.
- Ensure safe commissioning practices: PTW, LOTO, SIMOPS.
- Conduct hazard assessments prior to equipment energization/start-up.
- Enforce safety during high risk activities such as pressure testing, heavy lifting, and rotating equipment commissioning.

Expected:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Diploma with strong commissioning experience may be accepted.
Professional Experience:
- 8-12+ years' experience in mechanical commissioning for oil & gas EPC projects.
Strong experience with:
- Static & rotating equipment
- Piping systems testing
- Utility systems (air, nitrogen, cooling water, fire water)
- Package units commissioning
Proficient in:
- Middle East / Iraq remote site experience preferred.
- Rotating equipment alignment methods
- Hydrotest/Pneumatic test procedures
- API mechanical standards
- Reading P&IDs, datasheets, GAs, isometrics
