Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced FPSO Water Treatment & Chemicals Area Lead to take full technical responsibility for the delivery of water treatment and chemical systems on a large FPSO new-build project.
Working within the FPSO technical team and reporting to the FPSO Technical Manager, this role covers the full lifecycle of the package — from detailed engineering and procurement through fabrication, module integration, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover to operations. This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role requiring strong coordination skills across contractors, vendors, yard teams, and internal project disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all technical activities related to Water Treatment and Chemical systems within the FPSO scope.
• Coordinate engineering development with contractors and vendors under the direction of the Process Lead.
• Ensure timely procurement, expediting, and delivery of all equipment and materials.
• Oversee fabrication, modularisation, and integration of equipment onto the FPSO.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with contractual, technical, and quality requirements.
• Support and monitor pre-commissioning, onshore commissioning, and preparation for offshore commissioning and start-up.
• Review and comment on contractor engineering and construction documentation in a timely manner.
• Track progress, punch lists, task sheets, and ensure proactive close-out.
• Coordinate closely with QA/QC teams for inspections and ITP requirements.
• Ensure effective interface management across disciplines (process, mechanical, electrical, commissioning, etc.).
• Identify technical risks early and implement mitigation measures.
• Participate in technical meetings and ensure implementation of agreed actions.
• Provide regular, structured reporting on progress, risks, and technical issues to the FPSO Technical Manager.
• Support lessons learned activities and preparation of discipline REX dossiers.
• Promote strong HSE leadership, ethical behaviour, and compliance with project procedures.

Candidate Profile

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 15 years’ experience in oil & gas or energy projects.
• 10 years’ experience working on large FPSO or offshore facilities projects.
• Strong background in water treatment systems, chemical injection, and associated process packages.
• Proven experience managing engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning interfaces.
• Familiar with international codes, standards, and best industry practices.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, autonomous, and solutions-focused mindset.
