Commissioning Manager

An outstanding opportunity to join a leading offsite and building services engineering specialist delivering complex, mission-critical projects across the UK and Europe.

This is a senior role for a Commissioning Manager who wants full ownership of the offsite and on-site commissioning phase-from early design review through integrated systems testing and final client handover.
The Role

You'll act as the technical authority for commissioning, leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver fully tested, compliant, and client-ready MEP systems. This is a highly visible, client-facing position with real influence over quality, performance, and project success.
What You'll Be Doing

• Leading end-to-end commissioning of complex MEP systems on major projects
• Developing and executing commissioning strategies, plans, and programmes
• Overseeing FATs, SATs, integrated systems testing, and final handover
• Acting as the primary commissioning interface with clients, contractors, and design teams
• Chairing commissioning meetings and driving technical decision-making
• Ensuring systems meet performance, safety, and compliance requirements
• Managing commissioning documentation, reporting, and issue close-out
• Championing site safety, quality, and best practice at all stages

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• Extensive experience delivering MEP commissioning on complex or mission-critical projects
• Proven leadership of commissioning teams across multiple sites
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, controls, piping, and BMS
• Confident client-facing communicator with excellent reporting skills
• Willingness to travel across UK & European project sites

Nice to Have

• Commissioning or PM certifications (CxA, NEBB, AABC, PMP, LEED AP)
• Experience with data centres, energy centres, or prefabricated MEP systems
• Familiarity with BIM, DFMA, and digital commissioning workflows
