The Impact You Will Make:

As Project Engineering Manager, you will directly supervise a team of project engineers, specialists and apprentices within the department.

You will take responsibility of the capital projects assigned to you, providing safe and compliant delivery, on time, within budget and to the agreed scope.

You will have proven and sustained ability to identify, plan, recommend, and complete major technical programs leading to innovative applications and extensions of existing and new technologies having significant impact on the business/staff organization.

In this role you will utilise your knowledge of technical, product, and market information to understand the project scope, expectations, and requirements to contribute to development of project strategy.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Direct supervision of a team of engineers to ensure delivery of their assigned work in a safe & compliant manner within the approved budget and timelines.
  • Maintain awareness of current and developing safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Lead your team on appropriate safety practices as necessary, and ensures direct reports complete core training on time (safety/compliance etc.)
  • Lead the recruitment activity of future engineers into the department.
  • Define and specify capital project scopes.
  • Manage commissioning & validation lifecycle activities (e.g. FAT/SAT, URS, DQ, IQOQ)
  • Form and co-ordinate cross-functional project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Quality and Business requirements.
  • Establish Sourcing strategy & drive Vendor selection process.
  • Generate and manage cost estimates and budget.
  • Develop and control project schedules.
  • Establish and cultivate an extensive global network of support (internal and external to Kindeva) to facilitate completion of assignments and build technical knowledge.
  • Guide interactions with customers to understand customer relations, processes, and applications.
  • Participate in technical strategic planning process at business level.
  • Be recognised as a consultant/mentor within the business group and assists in the development of other technical employees.

Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years' experience working on engineering projects.
  • 8+ years' experience in a regulated industry e.g. pharmaceutical or food & beverage industry is preferable.
  • Experience of managing a team.
  • Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline.
  • Chartered status (CEng) or working towards chartership is highly desirable.
  • Proven leadership of capital projects in a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Possesses complex problem-solving skills is required.
  • Sound knowledge of engineering design principles, procurement strategies, and construction methods.
  • Previous experience of health & safety regulations, quality systems, and relevant industry standards.
  • Strong project management skills with experience using tools like MS Project, or similar.

Additional Information:

Working Hours: 37.5hrs per week

Location: Derby Road, Loughborough
