SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER

Overview
We are supporting a large organisation with the recruitment of several Senior Project Engineers to lead the delivery of complex civil engineering projects in onshore and offshore environments. This is a senior-level role suited to experienced engineers who can manage multidisciplinary teams, oversee full project lifecycles, and engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.

The role offers exposure to technically challenging projects from early feasibility through execution, commissioning, and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate project teams to deliver full project management services from project initiation through to completion and handover

• Develop, implement, and maintain Project Execution and QHSE plans for assigned projects

• Oversee planning, cost control, budgeting, progress reporting, change management, and gate approval activities

• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve technically sound and cost-effective solutions

• Resolve technical and engineering issues in a timely manner to maintain project schedules

• Support the preparation of tender packages and participate in tendering, bid evaluation, and recommendation processes

• Maintain and update project risk registers, ensuring risks are identified, managed, and mitigated

• Interface with end users, internal stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and third-party partners as required

• Support the assessment and resolution of variations and contractor claims

• Contribute to the review and development of internal engineering and project management procedures

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to developing engineers within the organisation

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from a recognised university

• A higher degree is advantageous but not essential

• Membership of a recognised professional engineering or project management institution is an advantage

Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 12 years experience in engineering, project management, and delivery of civil engineering projects

• Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams during feasibility studies, concept optimisation, front-end engineering design, and execution phases

• Strong communication, presentation, and report-writing skills

• Confident chairing and managing technical and project meetings

• Strong leadership and team-building capability

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex project environment
