This Position reports to:
Senior Engineering Manager

ABB Brno - Service Division for High and Low Voltage Switchgear is looking for a mechanical engineer for the position of: Mechanical Design Engineer.

The main responsibility of this role is the preparation of production drawing documentation for low-voltage switchgear and close cooperation with manufacturing.

The work model for the role is: onsite

This role is contributing to the ELSE division

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Creation of production drawing documentation in SolidWorks
• Active participation in project-related teleconferences
• Opportunity for business trips worldwide for kick-off meetings or technical investigations
• Preparation of technical documentation for LV switchgear production
• Preparation of documentation for the sales/quotation department
• Cooperation with the sales department and manufacturing
• Close collaboration with the design/engineering department

Qualifications for the Role:

• Completed secondary education in a technical field
• Ideally a university graduate in mechanical engineering
• Basic knowledge of technical standards (ČSN EN 62271-200 / ČSN EN 61439)
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings
• User-level knowledge of CAD systems (primarily SolidWorks)
• Precision, independence, and willingness to learn new things
• Knowledge of English (minimum B2 level), additional language is an advantage
• Excellent communication skills and technical imagination
• Experience in a similar position is an advantage
• Logical, analytical, and systematic thinking
• Independence, proactive approach to problem-solving, attention to detail, accuracy, and solution-oriented mindset
