We currently employ around 230 people at our site in Mainz-Hechtsheim. Founded in 1994 as DILAS Diodenlaser GmbH, the company quickly established itself as a major manufacturer of high-power diode lasers. At its two locations in Mainz and Freiburg, DILAS develops and produces high-power diode laser components and systems with a wide range of power levels and wavelengths. DILAS has been part of the Coherent Group since November 2016.

We are looking for a Process Engineer - Semiconductor Packaging & Diode Laser (m/f/d) for our research and development department to start as soon as possible.

Job Description

• Develop and optimize interconnection processes (e.g., soldering, wire bonding) for semiconductor devices, including equipment support
• Select suitable materials and processes for electrical and thermal interconnections
• Conduct feasibility studies and process validations
• Analyze reliability and lifetime of interconnection technologies
• Collaborate with internal development, production, and quality teams as well as external suppliers
• Document processes and prepare technical specifications

Your Profile

• Degree in microsystems engineering, materials science, or a comparable field
• Experience in interconnection technologies for semiconductors or optoelectronic components
• Knowledge of thermal and mechanical stress analysis
• Experience with cleanroom processes and automated manufacturing systems is an advantage.
• Confident use of project management methods
• High analytical skills and problem-solving competence
• Good planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
• Proactive, structured, and independent way of working
